Jubail Industrial College Launches The SABIC Training and Professional Development Programs

​Jubail Industrial College recently launched the training and professional development programs of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) at JIC, following the establishment of a partnership agreement with SABIC. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dr. Ali Hassan Asiri, General Manager of the Colleges and Institutes Sector of the Royal Commission in Jubail, His Excellency Engr. Abdullah Al Shamrani, President of UNITED Company, Engr. Fouad Mousa, SABIC Vice President for Local Content, along with a number of senior officials from JIC and SABIC.

The SABIC Training Agreement is established to strengthen the joint cooperation between JIC and SABIC in training and qualifying the SABIC workforce in various disciplines, such as chemical engineering and industrial processing, mechanical and manufacturing engineering, management, computer and information technology, process safety, and fire prevention. One of the objectives of the agreement is to create local jobs in the petrochemical, oil, and gas fields. The program also aims to equip and empower the Saudi manpower in companies that contract with SABIC.

"The launching of this agreement is an extension of the joint cooperation between Jubail Industrial College and all major companies in the areas of training and professional development. The College is ready to work round the clock to meet the training needs in the region," said Dr. Eid Mohammed Al Hajri, JIC Managing Director. In addition, the College aims to train more than 500 trainees in specialized technical fields, with the aid of advanced College training facility.
