JUBAIL INDUSTRIAL COLLEGE AND TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH INAUGURATED THE JUBAIL RESEARCH AND INNOVATION CLUSTERHUB

JRICH Image1.jpgThe Royal Commission in Jubail, represented by Jubail Industrial College, has announced the launching of the Jubail Research and Innovation ClusterHUB (JRICH), in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich (TUM), INSITE BAVARIA and VDI/VDE-IT. The College had previously announced the establishing of this center, and it is expected to be a pioneer in the field of applied research and development of cluster hubs in the region. Moreover, the center will support business incubators and will provide innovative solutions to many industrial challenges. The center will also help Saudi entrepreneurs who work in technical fields.

A ceremony was held on January 11, 2017, under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Mosleh H. Al Otaibi, the CEO of the Royal Commission in Jubail, and in the presence of the German partners, at the Sea Club of the Royal Commission. The ceremony included workshops about cluster management and SMEs done by the German team.

 Dr. Eid M. Al Hajri, the Managing Director of Jubail Industrial College, said that the industrial leaders as well as representatives of financial organizations in the region had been informed about the project. He stressed that they have been invited to participate to this project and support it to get the benefits of its outputs. 

Dr. Al Hajri added that the College and its German partners, TUM and  INSITE BAVARIA and VDI/VDE-IT, will undertake various visits to the industrial companies in the kingdom to identify the industrial problems and try to find the right solutions. Furthermore, the center will conduct periodical workshops with leading local industries to recognize the first group of the applied research projects, focusing on the efficient use of power in the petrochemical industries, environmental engineering, clean technology, and technology transfer. 

JRICH Image2.jpgIt is worth mentioning that Jubail Industrial College provides industrial companies with national skilled manpower having distinguished training in different fields of technology. Moreover, the college provides special training programs to qualify those who are already working through special agreements with the local industries and the community.

Jubail Industrial College offers associate degrees in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Technology, Electrical Power Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Engineering Technology, Chemical Technology and Polymer Technology. Moreover, it offers associate degrees in Accounting, Marketing, Office Management, and Information Technology. In addition to that, the college offers Bachelor Degrees in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, and Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology.
